Where simple thoughts and wonderful memories are conjoined, to create a sparkle of luminous joy to all those who want to remember, reminisce, care, and share about the times that we used to know and cherish before
just happened upon your blog. i found the previous entry really interesting as for most of my life i have lived in kollupitiya....and its nice to learn bits about the history. thanks!
Thanks for the comments and the kind words Siraj. Would you be able to remember and contribute any sigfnificant memories about New Moor Street for the blog? Fazli
Thank you for all your hard work re. genealogy of Sri Lanka. For someone that has lost her heritage because of migration and other incidents.....your site gives hope and help. I just found this site a tiny bit ago. I will peruse through this more as i look for family heritage. So far in what i looked at ....i don't see much for the names Perera, Goonatilaka, Abeykoon (although you have a tiny bit of this name), Samarasinghe. Is it possible to get more info re. these?
Thank you too. Unless and otherwise people like you browse through the site and let me have suitable updates it will never grow.
Sadly, the most difficult of all data that has been eluding me are Sinhala and Tamil genealogy while Burgher and Muslim family trees have been carefully written and archived by most families.
Apparently the Sinhala & Tamil community didnt feel it appropriate to record and save their family heritage through time.
